Colors, Materials and Methods - Project 3 Day and Night Stamps
Overview
Tasked with creating two 6” x 10” compositions portraying "night and day" using a chosen animal and a limited color palette of 3–5 colors with varying values. Focusing on flat, simplified stylizations, employing color shifts, textures, and patterns for variation to create two cohesive stamps.
Delivery
For this project, I chose the betta fish, also known as the fighting fish, for its dynamic movements that would lend itself to more interesting compositions. Careful consideration was given to the color palette to honor the fish’s natural vibrancy, ensuring legibility at various sizes, and reflecting its natural habitat of shallow waters where design elements like reflecting water and fauna were used.
